Hollywood is situated in Los Angeles, California. The name became popular due the location of many famous Movie studios and is known by other names as 'StarStruck Town' or 'Tinseltown'. In recent times, the expansion of the film industry has begun, but the prominent sectors like the effects, editing, lighting and post-production companies remain in Hollywood.

Nestor Studios:
This was the first movie studio to be opened in Hollywood. The names of the owners are David Horsley and William Horsley. They produced the popular "Mutt and Jeff' comedy films. Nestor studios were merged on 1912 along with other movie studios in Universal Picture Companies.

M G M studios: the former name of MGM was Triangle Pictures. It was one of the most powerful studios in Hollywood, and it has in its list many of the smash-hit films like Gone with the Wind and Wizard of Oz. Many Hollywood stars who were bound by contract to this studio include Elizabeth Taylor, Clark Gable, Bette Davis, Spencer Tracey and Katherine Hepburn. In 2004, MGM studios has merged with Sony Corporation of America and is known as Sony Pictures Studios.
