Thanks to its convenient location, the Getty Center is easily accessible for most of you. Public transportation is available while driving would not cost you too much time. If you're about to drive there, the following driving directions might be helpful for you.

For visitors driving from 405, it's necessary to head north or south toward Getty Center Drive. Keep straight on Getty Center Driver until you see signs on both sides of the road. Then follow sign to reach the Getty Center.

Visitors driving from the Museum of Jurassic Technology or other attractions located in this area need to take Venice Blvd to Bagley Avenue. And bear right onto National Blvd. Before you get through Santa Monica ramp, turn right onto S Roberson Blvd. Take Exit 3A and proceed on I-405N. Then take Exit 578 and head for Moraga Drive. When you come across N Sepulveda Blvd, turn onto it. Continue on N Sepulveda Blvd and then turn onto Getty Center Drive. Follow signs to get to the Center.

Public Transportation: Other visitors can take advantage of Metro buses which would make several daily stops at this area. Rail lines can also take you to the Center from most places of Los Angeles. The Metro Rapid Line 761 has a stop close to the main entrance of the Getty Center.

1) For those who come from Downtown Los Angeles, it's recommended to take Metro Rapid Bus No.720 at its stops located at either 7th Street or Metro Center. Then get off at Wilshire or Westwood Blvd stop. Walk toward north to get to Lindbrook Drive. Catch the bus No.761 to arrive at the Getty Center stop within about 20 minutes.

2) If you live in Hollywood, remember to take bus No. 2 to Hilgard Avenue stop or Westholme Avenue stop situated at the University of California at Los Angeles. Walk across the intersection to catch the bus No.761. And then you would be at the Center within 12 minutes.

3) Visitors coming from the Los Angeles International Airport can catch the Culver City Bus No.6 at the LAX City Bus Center. It would take almost an hour for you to get to Lindbrook Drive. Take a No.761 bus to reach the Getty Center.

4) If you travel from Santa Monica, take the bus No.720 at the Ocean or Colorado Avenue. When you arrive at Wilshire Blvd stop, get off the bus and walk to Westwood Blvd to catch bus No.761. Normally, it would take 20 minutes for you to get to the Getty Center stop.

Or you can catch a Santa Monica Big Blue Bus No.2 at 4th Street or Broadway Avenue. Get off the bus when you see Westwood Blvd or Lindbrook Drive. Get on Bus No.761 to reach the Getty Center.

5) People traveling from Pasadena are suggested to purchase ticket for Metro Gold Line train. After arriving at the Union Station, change to Purple Line train or take the Metro Red to reach 7th Street stop or Metro Center. Then catch the Bus No.720 to Wilshire Blvd. Change to 761 to the Getter Center.

6) Those from Universal City or East San Fernando Valley need to take Bus No. 750 at the Universal City Station. Then Get off at Ventura Blvd stop and get to the Getty Center stop via bus No.761.

Other Options: The Getty Center is also served by a computer-operated tram which would take you to the top of the hill from Getty Center Parking Garage. To catch this tram, you need to take the elevator in the garage to get to the Lower Tram Station first. After your visit to the Getty Center, if you prefer to catch a taxi, you can find a taxi stop at level P1 of the parking garage.
