
Take a Walk through the Historic Echo Park Los Angeles - A Neighborhood of Exemplary Character
One of the most prominent and popular tourist attraction is the Los Angeles is the Echo Park. Located at northwest to downtown Los Angeles, the Echo Park is a beautiful and peaceful outdoor area which provides a scenic view of the city and also where a lot of people gather to spend there mornings or evenings to get away from the buzzing city life. The park is built around a lake in which people do fishing, kayaking, boating and other recreational activities.
The Echo Park was previously called as Edendale. There are many cultural events conducted in the echo park that can be every exciting and fun for the whole family. Each year the Cuban festival is held in the park on the 20th of May marking the Cuban's independence from the Spanish. The festival attracts many tourists and people from the city to honor the patriot Jose Marti's statue.
Another major event held in the Echo Park is the lotus festival. This event is held for the commemoration of various Asian ethnicities of Los Angels and hosts the famous Chinese dragon boat races each year. The park also contains some historic attractions. There are several sculptures of dinosaurs and pre historic creates which are for display at the park.
One could take the tour of the park on any one of the boat houses and visit some of the various prominent landmarks of the park such the Jensen's recreational center, angelus temple, etc. There are also several walking tour tourist can take which include scenic locations on the park and the various stairways which lead to the park.
