Previously known as Pasadena Art Museum, Norton Simon Museum is the most remarkable private museum located in Pasadena, California. Norton Simon Museum houses a prestigious and focused collection of European at from 14th century to 20th century, South and Southeast Asian art, modern and contemporary art of western countries, as well as prints and photographs.

When it comes to visiting Norton Simon Museum, you should pay special attention to the hours information as the museum will not be opened until after noon. Remember not to come in the mornings! On this page, we'd like to share with you the hours information of various venues in Norton Simon Museum.
Museum Hours: It's noteworthy that Norton Simon Museum is closed on Tuesdays and in the mornings. In general, the museum is open from noon to 6:00 pm. On Friday, however, the closing time is delayed to 9:00 pm. To give you a clear view, we've listed the hours in the following:

Garden Hours: Construction of the garden is inspired by Monet's gardens at Giverny. The tranquil surroundings, breathtaking landscape and featured sculptures there make visitors relaxed and indulged.
The Garden is free to visit when the museum opens. Yet it's closed 15 minutes prior to the Museum closing.
Notes: On days when it's raining heavily, the Sculpture Garden will be closed. Avoid raining days if the Sculpture Garden is part of your touring plan.
Museum Store Hours: The museum store has a large selection of books on art, print, stationary, DVD, Home Decor and etc. Members of the museum will get a 20 percent discount at the store. Garden Cafe Hours: Garden Cafe is a nice place to have a cup of coffee and some snacks during your visit. It's right in the sculpture garden. Garden Cafe serves guests with dedicate daily specials, snacks, baked food, tasty salads, sandwiches and drinks. Lunches for group visitors should be booked two days ahead of schedule. Museum Theatre Hours: The Museum Theatre is a state-of-the-art venue presenting two films daily, respectively "The Art of Norton Simon" and "Sister Wendy at the Norton Simon Museum". It's free to watch these films as long as you've got a museum admission.
"The Art of Norton Simon" is presented at 12:30 pm, 2:30 pm and 4:30 pm. On Friday, an additional showing will be added at 6:30 pm if there are no special events. This film will last for 30 minutes.
"Sister Wendy at the Norton Simon Museum" is an hour-long film. It will be divided into 3 parts and presented at 1:15 pm, 3:15 pm and 5:15 pm respectively. On Friday, an additional showing will be added at 7:15 pm if there are no special events.
