Bars

Bar hopping is a common culture in Los Angeles and it's a quality way of spending your vacant time especially if you are without a partner in the big city. There are tens of thousands of bar for Los Angeles CA travel and choices vary from person to person but there is a common consensus in the LA residents as to where to drink. Los Angeles folks consider hotel bars as the best place to hang out.

There is a very strong reason behind this logic. All the major hotels are located near Sunset Strip or downtown. Hollywood and Sunsets Strip are considered as the nightlife centers of LA while the neighborhoods of Echo Park, Los Feliz and Silverlake are home to cafes and dive bars as favored by the common hipster. Some of the most famous and popular bars include Chateau Marmont at Sunset Strip, The Rooftop Bar at The Standard in downtown and Skybar at the Mondarin again downtown.

Chateau Marmont is Located at 8221 Sunset Boulevard and was built in 1927. It is a common hangout for Rock stars and Actors and is popular for numerous incidents surrounding famous personalities. It caters to celebrity clientele loosely and has a reservation only restaurant serving Eclectic cuisine. The bar on the other hand is open and is generally a common hangout for one and all.

SkyBar is situated inside the Mondrian Hotel is known for its hip and trendy settings and amazing crowds. Morgans Hotel Group who took it over after it was re designed and reopened in 1996 owns the hotel. Everyone because of quality crowd and beautiful surroundings favors SkyBar.

Besides the hotel bars some new places have recently opened in downtown and have restored the lost glory of amazing nightlife there. The bars/clubs at LA LIVE, The Golden Gopher and The Edison are some examples of recently opened popular bars.
