The entire complex of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art is mesmerizing. Spread over twenty acres in the heart of the city, it has seven buildings, each dedicated towards different purposes. Improving on the infrastructure further, the museum is undergoing a massive infrastructure renovation and expansion known as Transformation, undertaken by the team of the Pritzker Prize winning architect, Renzo Piano.
Most recently the team has finished building the Broad Contemporary Art Museum, one of the finest add ons to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art not only because of the mesmerizing design and display of architectural genius but also because of the kind of art that is put on display here.
Although the LMCA houses art from everywhere in the world and from different times too, the most notable works are the Asian art, located in the Pavilion for Japanese Art, Latin American art that date from pre Columbian times to contemporary works and one of the finest collection of Islamic art in the world.
