Dining
Los Angeles is one of the better places in the United States of America for a travel in Los Angeles the city where you can enjoy multi-culinary restaurant at its best. You can find traditional American diner culture to new breed of organic cafes, to inexpensive burger joints & taco trucks and last but not the least are the swanky eateries with breath taking food.
Los Angeles dining is a problem because there is so much to choose from. On one hand, there is inexpensive, authentic food that is available aplenty and represents LA multi cultural community. This is where the easy work ends. You often need to do a fair amount of legwork to get to these places, which are in the neighborhoods respectable people tend to avoid. For gaining knowledge on these, refer to the column of Jonathan Gold in the LA Weekly.
Los Angeles is also the birthplace of drive-thru and fast food chains are abundant. You can find at least one around every corner. The In 'n Out Burger chain are famous for their on the go hamburgers, milkshakes and French fries.
You can also taste the strictly vegan and vegetarian dining of any cuisine you like here in Los Angeles, be it Ethiopian, Chinese, Thai, Mexican, Indian, American, Vegan Macrobiotic, International Fusion or Raw Gourmet. Restricted diets are also easily available in Los Angeles. Finding kosher Chinese food or kosher Mexican may be a problem anywhere in the world but not L.A. Genghis Cohen in West Hollywood serves the Chinese while you can find other kosher varieties at Pico Boulevard, which is rather predominantly Jewish, populated.
You can try the organic food at Trader Joe's which is a supermarket specialized in selling it. For good quality, fresh salads try Whole Foods. You will a fully loaded salad bar alongside huge collection of sushi, burritos and many other hot dishes ready to go along with them.
If you can schedule your visit during the Restaurant week, you will get to indulge in variety of 3 course meals dished out at throw away prices.
