Freeway
When you travel in Los Angeles, you may notice the city's convenient freeway services for transportation. Los Angeles County happens to be the most populous county in California, U.S, and the City of Los Angeles is it capital. The Los Angeles, and the Greater Los Angeles as a whole, features plenty of freeways. In fact, the beaches, movie studios, scenic beauty like the palm trees and these amazing freeways are renowned as trademark of the region.
Orange, the Los Angeles & Ventura counties constitute the Greater Los Angeles and are interconnected, as well as linked to the San Diego, via complex freeway networks, which have highly tedious criss-cross structures. Surely, the count of these freeways around this region is high, but the per capita land ratio is relatively low.
The Southern California is somewhat sparsely populated in comparison to the other areas of the United States, but it has better interconnectivity, thanks to these freeways, making it easy for the commuters to travel freely, and at great speeds.
Overall, it has been observed that the County of Los Angeles is densely populated towards the southern and southwestern areas, with San Fernando, Los Angeles Basin and the San Gabriel Valleys being the top contributors towards high population, while areas like Crescenta, Antelope Valleys and Santa Clarita, fall under the averagely populated areas.
However, amongst these freeways, many of them are old and currently require maintenance and extension, such as the Interstate 710 Long Beach Freeway. While some of them are already under maintenance, a fresh freeway is being considered as substitute to State Route 91.
It will be connecting Lake Elsinore and San Jacinto, and the Riverside County Transportation Commission will lead the project. It has been titled as the 'Mid County Parkway, but no formal approval has been sent back regarding this proposal's approval.
Have fun out there!
