A strip from Santa Monica to Hoover Street with lots of fashion icons is named the Melrose Avenue. This avenue is a home to most of the famous fashion houses in USA for a fashion Los Angeles travel.
There are some interesting tips to know about the avenue. Melrose is often used as an east-west thoroughfare. Melrose Avenue is four lines width and left turns are prohibited during the rush hours.
The world famous Paramount Pictures is located in Melrose Avenue and it is one of the best landmarks there. Melrose has become synonymous with the word fashion as there are bunches of world famous fashion houses too. Mulberry, Fatima Lopes, Carolina Herrera, Marc Jacobs, Plush Home, Alexander McQueen, Miu Miu, Vera Wang and the list is never ending. Thus most of the fashion shows and new designs evolve from the avenue. This avenue defines the fashion of the world!
The western end is famous for high end restaurants like Elixir, The Bodhi Tree etc. Most of these restaurants are also influenced by the fashion factor. The interiors of these hotels are different and provide a homely atmosphere to the people. Many motels are also seen at this end of the avenue. The world famous comedy club 'The Improv' is also located there. The southern end is famous for its shopping malls. Retail Slut and Vinyl Fetish were famous years ago. Starbucks has been opened recently.
The area of Melrose Avenue that intersects La Cienega Boulevard, is originally a part of the La Cienega Design Quarter. There are many galleries, shops, rugs, accessories and art available at the place. It has a lot of cultural and historic symbols of Melrose Avenue.
Melrose Avenue is considered as the beginning and end of the fashion in America. It can be compared to Paris in its passion to accommodate designers and models.
