Though it is located in the coast of Atlantic Ocean you can still find animals which can be seen only in the Pacific Ocean. It is known for its excellent built in structure. Tourists can pet the big sharks found in the Shark Lagoon and they can feed to the colorful birds present in the Lorikeet Forest.

These features make the aquarium an intractable one. There are about 12,500 animals present in the place which covers little over 650 species. There are also 5,000 to 350,000 gallons present in the aquarium.

Interior of this aquarium is well built and a well planned one as well. This was built by Kajima International, which is the world’s famous aquarium builder. They have built many technologically advanced aquariums as well. They built this aquarium with the help of Turner Construction Company and opened in the year 1998 for public.

Some of the events are, the Festival of Human Abilities - January, the African Heritage Festival - February, special treats for the animals during Christmas season. They also conduct events during different seasons.
