Salute to the General - Pay a Visit to the MacArthur Park in Los Angeles

The MacArthur Park is a Los Angeles Historic Cultural Monument that pays tribute to General Douglas MacArthur who played a significant role in the Pacific War during the World War II. The general is the only man that rose up to the rank of field marshal in the Philippines Army and was bestowed with the Medal of Honor.

One a swampland, the MacArthur Park area is one of the most visited attractions of Los Angeles these days. There are over 80 species of plants that can be found at this park. A beautiful lake in the southern part of the park is among the major highlights of the park. The lake is fed by natural springs and one can enjoy the paddleboat ride in the lake.

One can access the park using frequent bus service. You can plan a family picnic to the park. However, make sure that you visit the park during day time, as it is not considered to be a safe area for wandering at night.
