What's the current minimum wage in Los Angeles

The minimum wage in California and Los Angeles included is $8 per hour except for San Francisco which has a much higher minimum wage of $9.79. This new rate took effect last January 1, 2008 and from the minimum rate of $7.50 which was impose last January 1, 2007. There's 6.7% of increase over the previous minimum wage.

Employees undergoing training or learner are an exception to the minimum wage rate but they must be paid of not less than 85% of it. They are employees on their first 160 hours in the job without any previous experience of their specific work.
