
Free architectural sights in Los Angeles
Getty Center is situated in a hilltop in the Santa Monica Mountains. The architect - Richard Meier chose travertine (a light colored fossilized stone) as the cladding of the building.
Broad Contemporary Art Museum at LACMA is a 60,000 sq ft, 3 stories tall that houses six galleries. It also has the travertine stone as its sheathing and has a louvered roof system that brings natural light inside the museum.
Caltrans District 7 Headquarters is a 13 story futuristic building with perforated metal panels as its exterior look.
Cathedral of Our Lady of Angels is the third largest cathedral in the world. It is a work of art as well as an architectural sight to behold with its sand colored concrete for its exterior facade and large bronze doors.
