Historic movie theaters in Los Angeles

Million Dollar Theater is a Spanish Baroque style building opened in February 1, 1718. It was the first movie theater of Sid Grauman. The auditorium is 106 ft long and 103 ft wide and it can seat 2, 345 persons.

El Capitan Theater was opened in May 3, 1926 and known as "Hollywood's First Home of Spoken Drama. It is now the site of many Walt Disney movies. There is also a nearby Disney Soda Fountain and Studio store where one can eat and shop.

The Tower Theater was designed by S. Charles Lee and it was opened in Oct. 12, 1927. Although it can only seat 906 persons, it boasts of rich and opulent interiors and exteriors set in French baroque, Moorish and Spanish designs. It is also the first theater downtown which was wired for sound films.
