Cerritos is a city in Los Angeles County which was formerly known as Dairy Valley. It is one of the many cities that constitute the Gateway Cities of southeast Los Angeles County.

City of Dairy Valley symbolized the hundreds of dairies and thousands of cows and chickens found within its limit that outnumbered that City's residents to 29 to 1 for cows and 30 to 1 for chickens and produced more dairy than any other place in the United States. Its name was formally changed to Cerritos on January 1967.
