Los Angeles Pobladores or "townspeople" is the name given to the original settlers of Los Angeles. They were 44 of them who founded the town, 22 of which are adults and the rests are children.
These 22 castes of Pobladores composed of 11 men and 11 women from 11 families according to 1781 census were 1 Peninsular or Spaniard born in Spain, 1 Criollo or Spaniard born in New Spain, 1 Mestizo or mixed Spanish and Indian, 2 Negros or blacks of full African ancestry, 8 Mulattos or mixed Spanish and Black and 9 Indios or American Indians while 16 of the 22 children who contributed to the settlement were Africans or what we call now "blacks".
