Antelope Valley California Poppy Reserve is great for studying wildflowers such as owl's clover, lupine, goldfield, cream cops, etc. There is an 8 miles of trail if one wants to go hiking and observe the wildlife animals. One can also have picnics while enjoying the view of the valley.

Alpine Butte Wildlife Sanctuary is a 320 acre of wilderness recreation. They are open from sunrise to sunset. One can do wildflower photography, bird watching, hiking and horseback riding. Their seasonal programs include Photography-in-Nature, Painting program, Wildflower Walks and Nature Study programs.
