
Natural parks in Los Angeles where dogs (on a leash) are allowed
Runyon Canyon Park is a 130 acre "urban wilderness". There are walking and hiking trails which can lead to breathtaking viewpoints of the city. Hikers trekking the western trail can let their dogs off their leashes but this is a difficult route and can take an hour or so.

Vista Hermosa Natural Park is a 10.5 acre public park featuring a Children's Adventure Area, grotto and waterfalls, picnic grounds, walking trails, streams, meadows, oak savannahs and a soccer field. They have a free "Transit to Trails" bus program designed for the community and the young people.

Elyria Canyon Park is a 35 acre nature park where one can study the California black walnut and other plants such as sage scrub, chaparral, grassland and purple needlegrass.
