What is the original civil war era military base in Los Angeles
Drum Barracks served as the Army's headquarters in the Southwest for 10 years. It was named after Adjutant General Richard Coulter Drum. The barracks had 22 buildings in the past set in a sixty acre land.
The barracks is now a museum. The first floor holds the library, parlor (the officer's sitting room), gift shop, model room (has small replicas of the buildings) and the director's office. The married officer's bedroom, barracks and armory can be found in the second floor.
