Is there a post office in Los Angeles with an art deco design
The Hollywood post office, aka Hollywood Station located at Wilcox Avenue has an art deco architecture designed by Claud Beelman. It was built in 1936. It is also listed as a landmark.
Fascinating facts include: Gordon Newell carved "The Horseman" in 1937 and is still found above an inside door of the post office. During its groundbreaking ceremony, the infamous censor Will B. Hayes tilled the dirt by steam shovel.
