What's the qualification to be able to make payments via Electronic Funds Transfer
Tax payments of $50,000 and above are required to be done through Electronic Funds Transfer in accordance with the ordinance #176160 which effectively took place on September 25, 2004.
Los Angeles through Wachovia can receive payments via Federal Automated Clearing House (ACH) system. There will be a pre-registration form that is given to you in order to set up an ACH mode of tax payment.
You must contact your bank to assist you with the pre-registration forms. Los Angeles only accepts in CCD+ or CTX formats and any other mode of ACH payments are not allowed. And it's very important to fax your tax forms right after you've made your ACH payments.
