The U.S. Post Office - Los Angeles Terminal Annex was designed by Gilbert Stanley Underwood. The architectural design was in Mission/Spanish Revival. Originally the building is a three storey facility with two towers and occupies 400,000 sq ft.

The postal service served the community for a number of years and its operation was transferred to the South-Central Los Angeles facility; customer service remained until 1995. It is listed as a National Register of Historic Places in 1985.
