
Silver Lake, Los Angeles
Silver Lake is where the first large studio of Walt Disney was built during 1930's at the corner of Griffith Park Boulevard and Hyperion. This neighborhood was named after the man-made reservoir which was originally called "Ivanhoe", which was a novel written by Sir Walter Scott in 1819. It is better known for its residential areas and houses a large population of gays.
Silver Lake has also become the center of alternative and indie rock scene in Los Angeles in 1990's, and is or has been home to numbers of musicians. It is a hilly district of Los Angeles City that is occupied by different variety of ethnicity.
