The six world premier plays of Neil Simon and also works by Wendy Wasserstein, A.R. Gurney, August Wilson, and many more were presented by the theatre.
Ahmanson has also been extravagantly involved in Broadway productions mainly as a co-producer. The productions of Amadeus, Smokey Joe's Cafe, Two Trains Running, Piano Lesson and Seven Guitars, the Drowsy Chaperone, The Most Happy Fella, and many more have been obliged by the theatre's assistance.
The Ahmanson Theatre has been honoured with approximately 50 Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Awards as a mark or its all around excellence in the field of production.
The Ahmanson Theatre, structurally, is a marvel in itself. The white marble and the blue glass brings out a pretty shimmering effect. An elevated plaza holds two large performing arts centres. The architecture and the scale of the building makes it a class apart from all other structures in the city thus providing an exhilarating impact on the visitors.
The Glass Menagerie and Leap of Faith are the two shows running currently in the theatre, they will be followed by a show called Venice in October.
